Mural Project
The imagery, mostly construction vehicles, many of which are carrying art supplies represent the creative community of the north shore, rebuilding in the face of great adversity. The characters in the mural are marching collectively to build something together. Having done the mural slam before, that's what the event means to Bruce - different voices lifting each other up creatively.
About the Artist
Bruce was born in Rome and grew up in Delaware City, Delaware. He received an MFA from University of the Arts in 1994, and got a masters from Hahnemann University in 1996. In 2002 he moved to Portland, Oregon and started the Mudeye Puppet Company, making puppets out of trash and teaching kids how to make puppets out of trash. In 2011 he moved to Beverly, Massachusetts to join the team at Raw Art Works (RAW) in Lynn to work as an Art Therapist. He recently finished a large scale "Garden City" installation for the city of Beverly at the former Family Dollar on Cabot street, entirely made from recycled materials.
