If I can’t see your faces, I will draw them.

June 4, 2021 @ 12:00 pm June 30, 2021 @ 7:00 pm

‘If I can’t see your faces, I will draw them’ came about because of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on a local level, specifically in our Salem community. It is the culmination of about a year of sketches and consists of over 80 local faces. These drawings were posted to Facebook every day or so starting in April 2020.

Join the artist for a special opening reception on June 4th from 6:30 PM-8:30PM

A note from the artist – I started to realize the impact the drawings themselves were having on the community after a month or two when people started commenting on them. Friends would tell me how they enjoyed seeing them, admitting to looking forward to each morning to see whom I would draw next. It gave some comfort to the people that couldn’t (or didn’t feel safe) leaving their homes. In a small way, it helped ease the stress for myself and others.”

The artist would like to thank John Andrews and Creative Collective for supporting this show and making it happen. Big thanks to Marshall and Elaine, the new owners of Cinema Salem for taking a chance and hosting this series for their Inaugural show.

Special thanks to The Lobster Shanty for sponsoring the Impressive framing job by Wendy and The Art Corner crew.
