Abolitionists & Anti-Slavery Activists: A themed Walking Tour with Jim McAllister

Highlighted stops on the walking tour will include visits to the grave sites of John & Nancy (Lenox) Remond, their son Charles Lenox Remond, and other members of their family. The Remond family was one of the most influential free Black families in early 19th century New England. In addition, tour attendees will also visit the grave sites of Luis  Fenellosa Emilio (1844 – 1918), Captain of the 54th Regiment, Francis Fletcher (abt. 1841 – 1872), a Sergeant in the 54th Regiment, and additional Harmony Grove Residents who were involved locally and regionally in the Abolitionist and/ or Anti-Slavery Movements of the day. This walking tour is co-hosted by Hamilton Hall and Harmony Grove Cemetery.
