Paw Money is a collaboration between visual artists Stefanie Bruinsma (she/her) and Monica Kwan (she/her). Their collaboration name stems from joining aspects of their creative monikers, Southeast Paw and Moneyca Makes. Stefanie and Monica began their friendship online during the global pandemic. They finally met in person in Stefanie’s backyard on the night of her wedding. Stefanie Bruinsma (Southeast Paw) is an independent mixed media artist, crafter, and designer. Her obsession with lines, patterns, shapes, and color fuels her to create. Her grandmother was a third grade teacher and is a person that inspires many of her pieces. Stefanie’s grandmother taught her cursive, which uses similar techniques that are demonstrated as common themes of her pieces. She is greatly inspired by the human experience, particularly in early childhood. Her artwork is influenced by her own childhood experience as well as her career in early childhood education. Her major interests are animals, bugs, the ocean, the woods, science, and supporting the environment.
